The initiative and launch of WING Colombia began in 2018 with a group of student leaders and professionals related to Geothermal in Colombia. Maria Isabel Velez was one of the strongest promoters who accompanied the WING creation process together with Daniela Blessent, Angela Prieto and Valeria García. In 2019 and during the beginning of the COVID 2019 pandemic, the WING initiative was reborn with more force and 5 student and professional leaders were recruited in the area of ​​earth sciences and geothermal energy (Laura Bocanegra, Camila Barragan, Jessica Hernandez, Andrea Bohorquez , Laura Bernal) based in different cities of Colombia (Bogotá, Manizales, Santander). With this base group, leadership training began, the objectives and coordination of activities were defined. In the short and medium term, WING Colombia is seen as the space for the integral development of professionals interested in geothermal energy, strengthening leadership, mental health, soft skills, communication and, of course, the technical and applied knowledge of geothermal energy in our Country.
