WING India started in September 2020 with a few core members. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it was launched virtually with members and mentor joining from three continents. It was launched by Malfridur Omarsdottir (WING Iceland; scientist at UNESCO GRO-GTP) and special appearance of WING India mentor, Katherine Young (WING USA). At present WING India is focussing on mentoring future geothermal enthusiasts and bringing professionals involved in geothermal on a single platform.
