Overview
The Peruvian geothermal sector has always been small and has been relegated from the national agenda, as well as the issue of equity between men and women. However, this scenario of social, economic and health adversity that we all live today, led us to think that we should not wait any longer to generate the changes that our society needs. Therefore, a group of professionals from the public and private sectors, academia and various specialties related to the geothermal industry began to meet virtually in August 2020 to see how we could generate these changes towards an economy with greener energy industries and with equal opportunities for all. We are still starting the process, but we are proud to have found this team where we all have a deep love for the country, for geothermal energy and for generating changes for a more humane and equitable world.
We currently have 7 members. Five of them women, 2 men. We have monthly meetings and talks open to the general public to publicize Peruvian women’s research on geothermal energy.
