El Salvador 2021 in review (en Español):
En el año 2021 se realizó el relanzamiento de WING El Salvador, enfocado en generar más actividades y oportunidades para lograr el apoyo y la participación técnica de las mujeres en el Sector Geotérmico. También en el año 2021 ingresaron nuevos miembros al grupo de WING El Salvador y se desarrolló la actualización de nuestra base de datos. A continuación se presentan las actividades más importantes desarrolladas en el año 2021, con el equipo de WING El Salvador.
Switzerland 2021 Relaunch
On 21st September, 2021, WING Suisse held an incredibly successful kick off event with presentations from Nathalie Andenmatten the president of WING Suisse, Ann Robertson-Tait the WING Global team lead, Naomi Vouillamoz who spoke on the socio-economic aspects of the energy transition, Fiammetta Modino presented on thinking outside the box when we face limitations, Luca Gugliemetti spoke about Swiss successes w/ gender diversity in the geothermal program (8 out of 18), and Marit Brommer the Director of IGA presented on the importance of having men advocate for the advancement of women.
The event concluded w/ a WING cake cutting ceremony, symbolically performed by the youngest male and female attendants in the room; representatives of the generation which will benefit most from efforts made within WING Switzerland.
Future Leaders - Cohort #2!
LThe 2nd Future Leaders Cohort has officially begun with 13 members, who hail from the USA, New Zealand, France, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, and other countries. This is a year-long program consisting of monthly virtual activities that facilitates the sharing of experiences, tools and insights with women seeking leadership roles. It’s an opportunity to learn from and build relationships with other geothermal professionals, have round table discussions on the type of knowledge and skills required to be a leader, and plan individual development along a leadership pathway.
In November – kicked off the activities with an introduction to the details of the program, and in the beginning of December we had the second meeting with members learning about how to market yourself and the process of preparing for interviews.
Geothermal Rising Conference 2021
WING sponsored the registration of 14 university students, from 12 different countries, to attend the conference either virtually or in-person.
WING announced the winners of our Core Values Awards. Awards went to Courageous: Phyllis Gathoni Mathenge (Kenya), Empowering: Dorman Purba (Indonesia), Open: Cannur Bozkurt (Turkey), Caring: Elizabeth Torio Henriquez (El Salvador).
The WING luncheon was well attended as was the WING booth. We also held our annual morning yoga and fun run.
